Position Summary

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for backend and website development initiatives as well as the health and uptime of the company’ s eCommerce platform, websites and data integrations. The key areas of responsibilities include:

 
  • Perform technical projects relating to eCommerce websites, platforms and systems
  • Liaise with Business analysts, PM, Customer in understanding the software requirements specification
  • Technical design of modules
  • Creating unit test cases, automation, code review
  • Unit Testing of the application developed
  • Promotion of Bug fixes & changes in live instance
  • Documentation ( High level & low level technical design, Test cases, Code review, Release)
  • Providing status updates to the reporting manager
  • Support website design/development initiatives as they relate to marketing and merchandising departments
  • Develop/support data connections for system integrations using (REST/SOAP API technologies)
  • Ensure uptime, stability, redundancy, reliability and security of company’ s web properties and related platforms
  • Monitor environments and react to any and all alerts incidents and outages with hosting providers, websites, platforms, internet connectivity, network etc.
  • Strategize, plan and recommend technology solutions for future growth
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience of 5 yrs as Software  Developer  mandatory
  • Expertise in developing applications using  Ofbiz  framework (Very important)
  • Hands on experience in Core Java, Javascript, JQuery, Groovy
  • Should have lead a team of  developers  for at least 3 years
  • Java certification will be an added advantage
  • Should have very good working knowledge on RDBMS, SQL
  • Very good knowledge on Object oriented programming concepts
  • Worked on at least 3 large development projects
  • Good knowledge of Agile software development methodology
  • Working Knowledge on source control application (e.g. SVN)
  • At least 2 years of experience with UI/UX Design
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Javascript Frameworks (such as BackboneJS, React, Ember.js, Vue.js or Angular)
  • Hands-on experience with graphic design tools like Illustrator and Photoshop and UI/UX design tools
  • General understanding of back end programming architecture and technologies
  • Experience building standards for brand and design consistency
  • Experience developing accessible interfaces for people with disabilities 
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility and workarounds
  • Ability to write high performing, reusable code for UI components
  • Excellent and professional communication skills to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to incorporate feedback into revised designs
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work products
  • Experience with complex eCommerce user experiences and lead conversion
  • Experience with multi-variate testing of front-end experiences and associated analytics
