Senior SAP Basis S4 Hana SME

A Sr. SAP Basis S4 Hana SME’ s role  entails holistic management and oversight of all SAP Basis & SAP technical environment and activities in terms of architecture design roadmap, change management, resource consumption, capacity & performance management, systems health, security & audit management and the management of the different front-end tools maintaining  technical SAP S4 HANA cloud services. 


Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversight of engineering and operations of SAP S4 HANA infrastructure to meet performance, security, high availability, scalability and other requirements.

  • Manage the SAP technical environment including; Installing, Configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment and 3rd party tools.

  • Interact with business analysts, developers and outsourcing partners to ensure the overall infrastructure design of SAP technical environment meets requirements of performance, security and high availability.

  • Collaborate with other IT team members and supporting partners to resolve SAP technical, database, transport, and source code problems as needed.

  • Collaborate with other IT team members and supporting partners to maintain the system’ s performance through system, database, network, and resource tuning and allocation

  • Creating, updating, and managing authorization roles and security within the SAP system(s) needed by the business to maintain SOX-appropriate access.

  • Lead troubleshooting of security & access issues as needed.

  • Evaluation and design of interfaces between SAP and external systems, maintenance of the SAP Data Dictionary and database objects, and manage the migration of SAP database and application configuration into production as well as analyze, develop, and maintain data architectures and process models within SAP.

  • Partnering with external partner in creating the SAP technical infrastructure roadmap that defines current technical architectures, future architectures, and the evolution for transition for all SAP technical projects.

  • Be the single point of contact for SAP technical environment subject matter expert across Kontoor Global IT and coordinating such processes as change, incident and problem management for SAP technical environment.

  • Review and approve all related technical SAP Basis S4 HANA environment changes to ensure associated Request for Change (RFC) and that the appropriate impact and priority, in collaboration with change stakeholders, has been assigned.

  • Monitor and maintain SAP systems environments for optimum performance and be proactive in identifying potential problems (environments include Sandbox, Development, QA and Production). Perform core Basis functions (e.g., corrections, support packs, kernels, transports)

  • Architecture & Governance

    • Thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs for Kontoor’ s SAP landscape.

    • Ability to develop SAP technical enterprise standards and technology architecture and the operations governance process

    • Participate in the formulation of the company' s SAP technical architecture and business system plans; assessing cost and feasibility, and ensuring the plan is aligned with and supports the strategic goals of the business 

    • Participate in SAP landscape design solutions, architecture recommendations, and strategies for continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder & Partner Management 

    • Ability to engage and influence key stakeholder on various SAP strategic initiatives

    • Have proven track record of high commitment to excellence, collaboration, team achievement, communicate effectively and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

    • Have proven track record of providing oversight of partner’ s operational duties of SAP technical environment will include the following: troubleshooting, patching, environments cloning, database and application upgrades, implementing backup and monitoring procedures.

    • Must have strong English written and oral communication skills to effectively execute responsibilities as part of a highly skilled dynamic SAP Technical Team

    • Must have strong team and interpersonal skills and excellent customer facing skills
       

Required Qualifications: 

A candidate must have industry specific professional qualifications in addition to SAP BASIS S4 HANA technical experiences

  • Bachelors Degree required, preferably in Computer Science; or minimum 10 years of equivalent practical work experiences

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in SAP and S/4 HANA Basis administration

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with creating and maintain SAP security roles, authorizations, authorization objects & values, and transactions

  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing, installation and managing SAP Netweaver, ERP, S/4 HANA, GRC, Fiori, Solution Manager, CAR, BODS, TMS/Charm, SLT, MDG.

  • Minimum 3 years of end to end SAP technical implementation full lifecycle. At least 1 year on S/4 HANA

  • Experience with SUSE Linux/Windows Operating System and HANA, ASE/Sybase, SQL DB

  • Experience with SAP S4 HANA infrastructure implemented on Azure Cloud Platform

  • Experience administering SAP Business Suite in HA and DR environments, Cloud Connector and integration platforms (PI/PO, SDI, DS, etc), automation for SAP patching.

  • Coding experience in one of Shell scripting, Go or Python, C, C++, Java

  • Coding experience in ABAP preferred.

  • IT SOX Audit experience preferred

  • ITIL Certified and experience preferred

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:  

  • Travel by air and overnight, as required 10-15% amount of time.
