Seeking an innovative and insightful thinker who likes solving business problems leveraging technology that lead cross-functional teams implementing Marketing Technology and (or) data & analytics platform.

Also you must have a deep understanding of Agile/Scrum development, its tools and methods for success

The scrum master will drive globally distributed cross-functional teams to deliver marketing technology and consumer data solutions for my client  globally. Will establish strong partnerships with other functions including product management, engineering, business process, PMO, marketing and media to deliver business value through technology. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:  

  • Lead, inspire, and influence to make your team successful

  • Lead cross-functional teams distributed across the organization  and vendor locations globally

  • Own end-to-end project delivery for assigned projects/scrum teams 

  • Establish great rapport with engineering teams, product managers, business partners and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain high levels of visibility, efficiency, and collaboration

  • Effective facilitation of agile/scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, retrospectives etc.) to achieve desired outcomes from all stakeholders 

  • Supports the team in early identification of risks and escalates issues to ensure risk mitigation plans are identified before issues arise

  • Proactively assesses cross-project impacts, cross-project resources, and dependencies and communicates potential impacts across the enterprise

  • Partner with product owner on product backlog grooming and plan proactively for upcoming sprints 

  • Ensures that project sponsors and stakeholders are regularly engaged. Provides transparent and timely reporting to all stakeholders

  • Partner with vendor project managers; ensure vendors deliver to established program/project vision and goals 

  • Leads feedback sessions with product, engineering and business teams to continuously evolve team processes and performance 

  • Communicate with senior stakeholders  on key technology initiatives – including business benefits, status, progress, and risks/dependencies 

  • Utilize and stay current with modern platforms and methods

EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 plus years of progressive IT experience with minimum 3 years of project management or scrum master experience 

  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver marketing technology solutions or digital products 

  • Experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies

  • Experience deploying agile ways-of-working to globally distributed teams

  • Experience leading digital transformation and (or) technology implementation programs 

  • Experience working in a matrix environment and ability to lead teams through influence 

  • Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives

  • Experience managing external vendor partnerships

  • Experience with one of the major marketing automation platforms (Salesforce, Adobe, Marketo etc.) or consumer data & analytics solutions is preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in Fashion, Retail or CPG industries is preferred

Education: Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field (Graduate degree in Business Management or related field preferred)

Specific skills required for Scrum Master, Marketing Systems include: 

  • Very strong leadership skills and people management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to influence decision making at all levels within an organization

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage diverse group of stakeholders

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles 

  • Deep understanding of the customer centric Product Mindset

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to inform recommendations and drive actions

  • Goal oriented and self-motivated within a collaborative team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts

  • Proficiency with project management tools like MS Project, JIRA, MS Visio etc. 

Following skills and qualifications are not required, but preferred:

  • Agile/Scrum certifications

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Own and manage budgets assigned to specific projects/initiatives 

  • Work with Sr. Director to develop annual budgets and support in managing to assigned budget

 

DECISION MAKING:  

  • Project/scrum team level decision making including work prioritization, risk/issue management, and escalation management

  • Vendor selection in collaboration with other stakeholders

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities while meeting project deadlines  

  • Must be able to deal with a high degree of unknown and iteratively evolve solutions and platforms

  • Must be able to work across teams and departments in a highly collaborative fashion

  • Dynamic business facing environment and you will be required to interact with multiple senior level stakeholders
