Position Summary
The SAP Application Development Senior Manager is responsible for the SAP systems. It includes the management
of existing functionality as well as of changes and new implementations including support of ongoing rollout projects.
He/she manages the daily activities and workload of the development team, provides project oversight to ensure
that the business requirements and functional specifications of systems under development are being followed, and
that work is performed on schedule and within budget. He/she works closely with executives, users, peers, and
other stakeholders to identify information requirements and build systems based on modern, standards-based
computing architectures that will improve data for decision making, improve business processes, and support critical
business strategies. He/she will facilitate open and effective communication within and between the development
team, the business, and external vendors. He/she will lead the execution and support of SAP Applications strategy
and ensure alignment with department strategy. He/she will promote the SDLC process within the SAP development
team and the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? Partner with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and/or Business Unit to get comprehensive understanding of
business requirements, provide system solution, and communicate delivery of developments.
? Management of Applications Maintenance Support teams to direct system maintenance, resolutions to break-fix,
tasks and other operational activities.
? Monitor, measure and partner with Managed Service Providers to ensure quality and timeliness of resolution for
application issues, operational activities and enhancement delivery.
? Management of corporate and store user and licenses and delivery of end user license audit to SAP.
? Partner with other operational teams within IT (Infrastructure, Security, PMO, etc.) and with management from
other IT organizations to integrate delivery of operational services.
? Partner with Managed Service Provider to ensure timely delivery of operational services are met within service
level agreements and maintain stable SAP systems.
? Help establish and enhance development policies, procedures, and standards and enforce the implementation
with application team.
? Manage, train and develop staff by providing timely feedback, coaching and support.
? Accountable for end to end resolution of incidents; track and monitor incidents throughout the development
lifecycle of the Request for Change tickets;
? Participate in Special projects as assigned;
? Responds to occasional system errors, including during off hour and coordinates response amongst the team;
? Update procedures, operation instructions, and any other documentation impacted by system changes;
? Participate on department teams to develop various procedures / policies;
? Plan and manage budget and expenditures for the SAP Application team within agreed budget;
? Work as a member of a cross-functional, integrated development management team;
? Participate in workload planning, tracking accomplishments, team meetings and status reporting;
? Works closely with the Business Analysts, Project Managers to set request/project priorities;
? Meets with the business and project teams to ensure projects and tasks are on target;
? Works with the developers to continually improve development standards and other departmental
processes and documentation;
? Provide technical assistance and mentoring developers;
? Communicate plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis;
? Adhere to department standards, policies, procedures and industry best practices.

Education and/or Experience
? BA/BS Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
? Minimum of 3 years of management experience required
? Demonstrated proficiency in using SAP as it relates to the fashion retail industry.
? 7 or more years of experience on SAP ECC
? Knowledge of standard SAP maintenance activities – support packs, enhancement packs, kernel upgrades, and
SAP troubleshooting.
? Knowledge of user license and role assignment is preferred.
? 2+ full cycle implementations including: Scoping and Planning, Process Design, Configuration, Testing,
Deployment, and Post Go-Live Production Support
? Prior experience working with Industry Solution for Retail (IS-R) is preferred.
