Provides Quality Assurance testing services within the IT Enterprise Quality Assurance group. Responsibilities include preparing and executing Application Test Plans, Test Scripts/Cases and documenting the results.
Knowledge of JIRA and responsive web design is desired.
Client is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our fast paced eCommerce Technologies team. The main responsibilities for this position are to work independently to design, create, execute and update test cases; log defects with proper documentation; plan and prioritize daily test execution and to provide help in making and adhering to testing related processes. Desirable candidates will be a self-starter, team player and have a “ can-do” spirit.
The responsibilities of the position are, but not limited to, the following:
§ Review and understand Business Requirements, Functional specifications and system design documents to identify all testable conditions in a structured way.
§ Convert application requirements to high level test cases
§ Create low level test cases from high level test cases
§ Create integration/end to end test scripts
§ Create a test execution plan / strategy for a test cycle
§ Apply lesson learnt from previous releases
§ Identify the test cases for regression and retire the redundant test cases
§ Participate in Sprint planning for QA activities and provide estimates for testing tasks
§ Execute test cases – manually and/or using automation tool (based on project need/setup)
§ Verify the actual test results for each test case and match the expected results
§ Communicate test results and status to project stakeholders
§ Maintain and update the test case changes as per change request /enhancements
§ Understanding of a typical defect life cycle process
§ Identify high quality defects
§ Log defects by accurately adding steps with proper details and documentation
§ Retest the defects and take them to closure
§ Report QA execution status by including key data points (based on data from the defect management tool)
§ Proficient in working with defect management tools (preferably JIRA)
§ Communicate work status to project stakeholders as required
§ Coordinate & collaborate with offshore team members as required
• 5+ years experiences in a similar role
• Full project life-cycle experiences
• Familiar with Agile methodology and principals
• Experience using defect tracking systems such as JIRA and general knowledge of defect processing and control
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Organized and details oriented
• BS - Computer Science or equivalent degree with related work experience
• Knowledge of eCommerce, retail industry is a plus
• Knowledge of responsive web design
• Knowledge of at least one of the automation tool (preferably Selenium)
