POSITION SUMMARY:  The product manager will be the direct liaison to marketing and media business partners across all brands, and help drive the roadmap for Marketing Technology and Advertising Technology platforms.

The Product Manager will collaborate and align with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into technical product requirements, and work with engineering team(s) to build and deliver world-class technology solutions.  Will also partner with other product managers, engineering teams as well as external partners to drive end-to-end project execution and enable business value through technology 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:  

  • Understand marketing strategies of all  brands, and map business strategies to technical capabilities needed 

  • Continuously develop a vision of where the marketing technology platforms need to go, and define the roadmap required to get there

  • Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to evaluate technology and product solutions - build / buy / partner options

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Work closely with business product owner to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI

  • Elicit and create initial epics/features and elaborate into user stories that clearly describe the functional and non-functional requirements

  • Take ownership of assigned scrum teams, and play an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals

  • Set the velocity of work for your projects/teams by prioritizing work effort based on aligned value

  • Run demos, presentations, and stand-ups specific to your projects and initiatives to keep alignment with all contributing stakeholders

  • Review test plans and lead UAT to ensure business capability requirements and timelines are met

  • Conduct feedback sessions with engineering and business teams to continuously evolve team processes and performance 

  • Work directly with developers, contractors and vendors to build processes and efficiencies as we scale platforms

  • Report on velocity, value and status regularly to stakeholders across the orginization

  • Craft presentations for the business on potential capabilities and enhancements to marketing technology platforms

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:  

  • 10 years of progressive IT experience with minimum 2 years of experience leading and managing teams 

  • 3+ years of experience working in a product management, technical product owner or similar capacity 

  • 5+ years of business analysis experience preferably in Retail or CPG industries

  • Strong experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver marketing technology solutions or digital products using agile methodology

  • Experience working closely with business teams and translating business strategy into technology and product roadmaps   

  • Experience creating and maintaining a Product backlog and prioritizing the Product backlog items according to business value

  • Experience working in a matrix environment and ability to lead teams through influence 

  • Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives

  • Experience communicating and presenting technical concepts to non-technical audience

 

Education:   Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field (Graduate degree in Business Management or related field preferred) 

 

Skills: 

Specific skills required for Product Manager, Marketing Platforms include: 

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to inform recommendations and drive actions

  • Goal oriented and self-motivated within a collaborative team environment

  • Ability to clearly communicate the business requirements to engineering teams

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to influence decision making at all levels within an organization

  • Strong understanding of technologies and products in Marketing Technology space including campaign management, CRM, email service providers (ESPs), data management platforms (DMPs), Loyalty platforms etc.

  • Familiarity with customer data, personalization, and customer engagement metrics sourced from digital marketing channels

Following skills are not required, but preferred:

  • Agile methodology certifications 

  • Experience implementing and/or maintaining a loyalty platform

  • Experience working with customer data and analytics platforms

  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities while meeting project deadlines  

  • Must be able to deal with a high degree of unknown and iteratively evolve solutions and platforms

  • Must be able to work across teams and departments in a highly collaborative fashion

  • Dynamic business facing environment and you will be required to interact with multiple senior level stakeholders
