JOB MISSION:  Reporting into the Director, Security & Compliance, the Information Security Manager will oversee all aspects of IT security and provide support for all data privacy and compliance initiatives for the company. They will work in partnership with IT and the business to support, define and improve information security controls, policies and standards while maintaining compliance with global privacy and security laws and regulations.
 
To be successful in this role, the Information Security Manager must be able help develop and execute an information security strategy, to include the creation and maintenance of policies, security risk assessments, security monitoring, security awareness and training, and technical cybersecurity solutions.

This is a highly visible role that requires regular communication with leadership, peers, and external partners. The Information Security Manager will need to possess both technical and leadership skills and frequently partner with many IT and business teams.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 

  • Collaborate with business leaders to enrich information security goals and programs

  • Manage and maintain ongoing PCI, data privacy and other compliance programs

  • Responsible for all information security and compliance testing and user training

  • Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend remediation or mitigation strategies to leadership as well as technical teams using industry standard methods

  • Perform risk assessments and communicate business impact to stakeholders

  • Monitor and review security and system logs for suspicious activity

  • Lead data security and compliance audits

  • Manage information cybersecurity technology vendors such as identity management, endpoint detection and response, email security, endpoint security, and vulnerability management

  • Prepare and maintain detailed and security focused system and application documentation

  • Interact with external partner security teams during new initiatives and ongoing as needed

  • Facilitate Data Privacy Impact Assessments with business stakeholders

  • Respond to data subject requests within legal timeframes

  • Perform vendor management assessments

  • Liaise with third party organizations that process data on our behalf

  • Act as the IT representative for all compliance and governance audits 

  • Collaborate with legal counsel and governance teams to ensure data protection and information security language is included in vendor contracts and agreements

  • Act as point of escalation for security investigations, sensitive data breaches, and security incidents to provide guidance and oversight on incident resolution containment techniques

  • Maintain knowledge of cyber threat vectors, actors, tools, and techniques

  • Research and communicate changes in relevant laws, regulations, and standards that impact compliance status

  • Responsible for ongoing continuous service security and compliance improvements through coordination and communication between IT support and business functions
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Advanced degree or equivalent and relevant technical management experience

  • 7+ years of information technology security experience 

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with global data privacy laws and regulations, information security, compliance, and information technology governance

  • Understanding of information security management frameworks (ISO 27001, COBIT and NIST)

  • Knowledge of global privacy and security laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, PCI and SOX)

  • Experience with data protection management practices

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, or similar credentials are preferred

  • Ethical, with the ability to remain impartial and report all non-compliances

  • Strong desire for continuous learning of new and emerging security technologies and standards

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to senior leaders
