IT Manager, Distribution Systems

Responsible for leading the design and implementation of the new Client' s Distribution systems.  Currently this includes a rollout of Manhattan’ s WMI and SAP WM as well as management of existing WMS systems and 3PL connections.      Specific vendor applications may change based on business selections.  

This individual may be called upon to lead as a program manager and is expected to contribute to overall strategy, innovation, and research.  This individual must have qualities that inspire collaboration and trust to build and influence cross functional business and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Partner with other Client’ s IT teams to create and manage key processes which drive project management as well as support Client' s strategy and business priorities. 

  • Partner with leadership to identify and plan IT driven growth opportunities, and develop plans for executing supporting initiatives, which may include sustaining, stretch, and breakthrough innovation. 

  • Accountable for design, configuration, and integration of the Distribution solutions

  • Coordinate team members in definition and documentation of processes, WRICEF, Functional Specifications, test plans/scripts, deployment plans and legacy application changes

  • Ensure application compliance of security standards

  • Partner with SI and Business Leads to ensure design meets requirements and gaps/issues are identified and resolved

  • Deliver high-quality solutions according to agreed upon scope, budget, timeline.  

  • ERP Program Implementation: 

    • Review Project workplans to implement ERP activities in line with legacy and 3rd Party changes

    • Lead key process workshops & issue resolution sessions

    • Lead IT solution design, testing, deployment and change management

    • Lead reviews of program deliverables and status

    • Resource planning and execution throughout the project lifecycle

    • Co-Lead at PMO team & Global Process Owner meetings: Status, Issues, Key Activities needing attention

    • Coordinate activities for integration with various systems and partners, both internal and external.   

    • Finalize planning and execute rollout of Manhattan’ s WMI to remaining DCs.   

    • Support data cleansing/migration activities

  • As part of Long Term Support, manage development, implementation, and continuous improvement programs and processes to provide:

    • Applications which meet all project requirements and stay within budget

    • Quality assurance plans/testing and implementation of best practices

    • Standards and procedures for project life cycle, project reporting, and documentation

    • Support team schedule, issue and progress reporting.

    • Leadership to identify and control areas of risk and drive resolution of issues.

  • Partner with OCM in the formulation of plans and activities to support project implementation and maintain elevated levels of communication.

Years of Related Professional Experience: 7+ years’ experience 

Educational/ Position Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’ s degree in a business discipline, computer science, or other relevant discipline required.

  • Project and process management, with exposure to strategy processes 

  • Depth in Distribution (Manhattan WMI preferred) in the apparel or consumer products industry

  • Leadership of Distribution project team

  • Significant experience in configuration, development, and implementation with recent hands-on experience preferred.    This should include:

    • All Distribution functions including MHE 

    • AS400 and Unix platforms

    • Analysis and reporting

    • Inventory control 

    • Exposure to SAP P2P and OTC processes and master data a plus

    • Integration testing, cutover planning, execution, and hyper-care support

    • Business Process Design (BPD) and Business Process Requirement (BPR) development

    • Functional Specifications (WRICEF)

    • Integration to external partners and other internal/external systems

  • Multiple project lifecycle implementations preferred – Planning, Blueprint, Implementation, Go-Live and Support

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products utilized by a project manager


Travel Requirements

  • Travel, including foreign, as required on an average of 30% of time
