Our client  needs a " hands on" DevOps manager, someone who has  good communication skills, experience running a small team, Kubernetes, Docker and Jenkins.

Please note that Terraform is required for this  role.

Also experience with cloud (ideally Google) but any cloud experience would be okay

Position details
    1. Run day to day DevOps operations to meet project deliverables as well as Business as usual weekly deliverables.
    2. Provide guidance to technical staff on complex work and project requirements
    3. Work closely with Technology Operations director to address short-term and long-term requirements while adhering to industry best practices

 

Technical requirements
    1. Working knowledge of some of the industry leading DevOps and integration tools. ie. Jira, Jenkins, Confluence, Nexus, Docker, GIT, Terraform, and Ansible.
    2. Experience working with the following technologies; Kubernetes, GCP, Java, Kafka, Zookeeper, Apache, nginx, MySQL, Cassandra, Load balancers, PKI, DNS, VMware, cloud infrastructure, on-prem infrastructure.
    3. Significant experience with deployment automation, working with platforms for configuration management, provisioning, and artifact repositories.

 

Leadership expertise
    1. Track record building winning culture, establishing best practices and taking teams to the next level.

    3. Ability to inspire not just manage
    4. Excellent communication skills and desire to communicate
    5. Track record mentoring and rebuilding teams

Delivery / Management skills
    1. Excellent understanding of SDLC success factors
    2. Drive and execute DevOps pipelines and maintain consistent environments across critical business applications.
    3. Establish environment management practices to ensure configuration consistency
    4. Manage Database environments.

The objective of the role is to free up another  manager -  and this person will be responsible to manage the DevOps team, day to day.  .Will structure, manage and create the team of on-site (4) and off shore(3) resources.  

This person will be 30% hands on, 30% architecture, putting in process and setting strategy, 40% Management. 

Should have experience managing people on and off shore, Cloud experience 2-3 years. 

It is recommended to read the book-The Phoenix Project and know the book by heart.
