Seeking a Data Architect to join its Systems division. This role will be responsible for implementing a data architecture that supports the global operations. The Data Architect will organize disparate data, control access to core data, establish data standards and definitions, and serve the engineering teams with clean and consistent data. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience transforming and modernizing large, complex, and global data architectures. This role will report into the Director, Data Engineering.


Responsibilities: • Transform the existing data architecture to support the globalization of our business through data warehousing and services • Assess the existing environment, identify opportunities, and develop a roadmap to deliver the proposed future state • Develop a global view of company  data • Establish and enforce a data dictionary • Work with developers to clearly define “ systems of record” and downstream data requirements • Collaborate with the technology leads from HarperCollins’ global operations to establish the architecture and processes required to synchronize our businesses on a global scale • Effectively manage a team to accomplish clearly defined goals


Qualifications: • 5+ years related experience as a data architect, database engineer, or similar role • Proven experience in developing and executing a technology vision • Strong management and team leadership skills • Expertise in designing technical solutions and documenting the technical specifications • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts • Direct hands on experience with SQL, SSIS, Mongo DB, Microsoft SQL Server and ERD design tools • Experience in media and entertainment a plus
