Job Description


The Analytics & BI Lead/Architect is responsible for supporting a team of Information Technology and SAP Development professionals responsible for the full implementation lifecycle. As part of this role, the individual will lead and drive: reporting strategy, application analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, maintenance and support for the delivery of Power BI and SAP projects and minor/major releases; working closely with SAP Functional Leads / Analysts to understand the functional requirements that drive the technical design of high quality technical solutions that are aligned with business and IT strategies, and are in compliance with the organization’ s architectural standards; and receiving guidance from more senior developers as needed. The primary focus will be to execute the SAP Reporting Strategies, identifying the inventory of BI development requirements (Interim and Long-Term) and partnering with functional teams, SAP Development, the systems Integrator and other IT teams to implement BI objects within the budgetary guidelines mutually agreed upon with IS Management and the business areas supported and that the results are of a consistently high quality that meet the business needs.


Support projects, manage external resources, and resolve issues to ensure the timely & accurate delivery of Business Intelligence reports, analytics, ad-hoc reporting, and corporate metric systems. Establish control-related standards and procedures.

  • Understand corporate & departmental objectives, and develop appropriate projects and strategies for your team to help meet those objectives.

  • Build pro-active relationships with the user community management & employees to beware of information needs or direction that may have an impact on Business Intelligence systems. 

  • Build relationships with other company IT organizations and vendors as necessary to ensure successful implementation of systems or the quick resolution of problems.

  • Develop and support reporting power user groups to ascertain user satisfaction levels, understand problems and challenges with the current systems, to prioritize enhancements, and to overall influence future direction of Business Intelligence systems. 

  • Prepare, and review with management, an annual Business Intelligence systems strategy plan that looks 18 to 24 months in the future.  

  • Advise on MS Power BI, SAP Hana, SAP BPC and Core SAP BI reporting scope and overall BI strategy

  • Advise on overall Kontoor reporting requirements in order to meet the needs of the business across SAP Hana, SAP BPC and Core SAP

  • Establish BI Standards to ensure adherence to quality requirements to all development standards

  • Advise/maintain Technical design, coding / development, and technical unit testing of SAP Hana, SAP BPC and Core SAP components

  • Support Tableau integration to SAP with no disruption during transition

  • Determine Interim approach for Tableau as new business units are taken from legacy to SAP

  • Manage BI reporting team across MS Power BI and SAP Hana, SAP BPC and Core SAP

  • Utilize expertise in BI Development to support the SAP solution long-term including support of BI Reports, BPC Reports, and Fiori Development.

  • Rapidly develop high quality solutions for reporting requirements in order to meet the needs of the business in SAP S4 Fashion solution including SD, MM, FI, WM, BPC, PP

  • Conduct Functional / technical design, coding / development, and technical unit testing of object modifications and other work needed to comply with the SAP/Tableau environments

  • Work with the functional teams on unit and integration testing as well as fixing non performing development objects

  • Resolve reporting risks and issues as needed

  • Ensure all applicable Kontoor policies, guidelines, and governmental laws are followed by the team, and immediately report any exceptions to management.

Educational/ Position Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’ s degree in a technical development discipline, computer science, or other relevant discipline required.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of SAP BI Development Leadership experience including: Power BI, BPC, ABAP Reports, BEX, Fiori

  • At least 5-8 years experience with ECC6.0 and beyond.

  • SAP HANA experience with demonstrated ability to develop the extractors and create the repositories necessary to develop reporting/dashboards in SQL or Fiori, and for SAP using HANA Live Views preferred.

  • Able to source from multiple systems and formats: including SAP, Logility, Manhattan-WMI, etc.  

  • Cross functional knowledge of FI/CO, COPA, SD, MM, WM, PP, BPC

  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

  • Well-organized and able to prioritize and coordinate simultaneous tasks and projects while addressing customer needs

  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills

  • Lead functional development, testing, planning, and execution of the following:

    • Reporting Tools and SAP Configuration

    • Functional Specifications (Reports, Extraction, WRICEF)

    • Reporting Architecture Development

    • Reporting Architecture Configuration

    • Business Process Design (BPD) development

    • Business Process Requirement (BPR) development

    • Security Design related to BI Functionality

    • Integration to external partners and other internal systems

    • Integration test planning and execution

    • Cutover planning and execution

  • Multiple SAP lifecycle implementations a plus – Planning, Blueprint, Implementation, Go-Live and Support

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Project, Visio, and Power Point. Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite.
