Data Warehouse / BI Contractor

You will be responsible for:
Fix data models (or make improvements), working from a queue of tickets
Implement transformations in SQL and dbt for newly designed data models
Migrate existing data models from one relational database (Postgres) to another (BigQuery), including working on validation
Experienced at working implementing and fixing reporting data models
Knowledge of data modeling and transformations in BI tools (such as Looker) and in a cloud analytics databases (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc)
Skilled at translating between an ER model and an ELT implementation
Excellent verbal and written communicator
Will need to be able to quickly diagnose and communicate complex ideas in order to ensure data models are high quality
May contribute to data model documentation
Skilled at modern software development lifecycle tools (Jira, git, linters, etc)
Experienced at writing tests (unit tests, integration tests, etc)
We are increasingly writing tests on our data transformations
Writes SQL “ like a developer”, with clear formatting, composability, etc
Ideally has been exposed to dbt (https://www.getdbt.com/) or other ELT (not just ETL) tools

Summoning the courage and strength to start her own business while also starting a family is something Pattie is very proud of. Obtaining that perfect balance is always a key challenge, but you need to totally embrace it in order to overcome it. A Director at her former company referred to her as “fearless” …and while she never thought of herself like that, hearing the complement did make her very proud! Her goal is to continue to have a stimulating career; providing open, supportive collaboration to inspire opportunity in the market. She would like to be positioned as someone who is focused on fostering strength in others! Outside of the office, Pattie loves skiing with her family… typically taking a trip out west every year. Going bike riding and taking family vacations are great. She loves summers at a Long Island beach home, going fishing with her boys and spending time at the pool and at the beach!
